US Dominates Relay Events at World Athletics Relays Bahamas 24, Securing Olympic Quota Spots for Paris 2024

USA Wins Five Titles While Botswana Claims Victory in Men’s 4×400 Relay

The United States has proven itself to be a dominant force in the relay events at the World Athletics Relays Bahamas 24, securing their position as the nation to beat leading up to the Paris 2024 athletics event. The U.S. men and women swept four out of five finals, with Botswana men claiming the title in the 4x400m relay after the Americans were disqualified in the heats.

Noah Lyles and Gabby Thomas played pivotal roles in securing wins for the U.S. in their respective 4x100m races, while Thomas also contributed to a world-leading time in the 4x400m for American women. Over 1600 athletes, including top stars such as Lyles, Thomas, Olympic champion Marcell Jacobs, and world champion Femke Bol gathered in Nassau, Bahamas for the highly anticipated event.

The U.S. men’s 4x100m relay team set a world-leading time of 37.40 to secure gold, while the women’s team also dominated with a championship record of 41.85 in their respective races. As this event served as a platform for athletes to secure Olympic quota spots, most of them were filled by now-qualified athletes from each discipline.

With National Olympic Committees having exclusive authority over Olympic Games representation, an athlete’s participation in Paris 2024 depends on their NOC selecting them for their delegation following an official qualification system available for reference by those aiming to compete in upcoming games
