Kelley O’Hara, a two-time Women’s World Cup champion and 2012 Olympic gold medal winner, has announced that she will retire at the end of the season. The 35-year-old, who won 160 caps in a 14-year international career, played her final USA match last August against Sweden in San Diego before deciding to retire.

Throughout her career, O’Hara scored three goals and assisted in 21 others in 10,287 minutes of play for the US women’s team. One of the highlights of her career was her performance in the 2015 Women’s World Cup, where she came off the bench in the semi-finals and scored a key goal against Germany before helping the team secure a victory in the final. She also played a significant role in the 2019 Women’s World Cup, starting six of seven matches as the US women’s team claimed their fourth title.

O’Hara expressed her gratitude for being able to represent her country and wear the US Soccer crest throughout her career. She reflected on her accomplishments and shared that she is most thankful for the people she was able to accomplish them with.
