Vermont Green Suffers Narrow Defeat to Carolina Core in Exciting USL2 Preseason Match

In a heated match, Vermont Green faced off against Carolina Core and ultimately suffered a 2-1 defeat. Despite taking the lead in the first half with Yaniv Bazini’s penalty conversion, Vermont Green couldn’t maintain their advantage as Carolina Core fought back.

Goalkeeper Nathan Schnur put in an impressive performance with five crucial saves to keep Vermont Green ahead, but Carolina Core managed to level the score with a penalty from Papa Ndoye in the 60th minute. Joshua Rodriguez then sealed the victory for the visitors with a powerful rebound shot in the 70th minute.

Despite numerous opportunities in the later stages of the game, Vermont Green was unable to find the equalizer, resulting in their 2-1 defeat. Head coach Adam Pfeifer expressed gratitude for the support from the community and fans, acknowledging the effort put in by the team.

Looking ahead, Vermont Green will have a break before the start of their USL2 campaign in about a month and a half. Their first match will be against Boston City on May 18th, where they will look to bounce back from their recent loss and start
