West Branch’s Beau Alazaus had a standout performance in their 10-0 victory over Minerva at Carl Michael Field. He hit a two-run single in the fourth inning and a two-run double in the sixth, driving in four runs on two hits. Alongside Alazaus, Hunter Shields contributed with two hits and three runs, while senior Jaxon Robb made a strong return to the lineup, going 2-for-2 with two runs. Robb, playing his first game since his freshman season, received medical clearance earlier in the day.

Anthony Perry, the winning pitcher, threw a three-hitter with eight strikeouts and no walks. He also had a two-run single in the sixth inning. West Branch now holds a 5-0 record overall and 2-0 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference, while Minerva falls to 0-4 and 0-2 in the EBC.

The Warriors scored single runs in the first three innings, with Shields scoring on a wild pitch in the first and Charlie Biskup scoring on a fielder’s choice in the second. Biskup and Boston Mulinix both had two stolen bases in the game. On the Minerva side, sophomore Brayden Wood went 2-for-3 but took the loss, giving up five runs, three earned, on four hits in three-plus innings.
