Wheeling Softball Begins April with Weekend Series at Highlands Sports Complex

Wheeling Softball is facing a tough season, with close games and positive moments. Despite losing the first game against Frostburg State by one run and the second by three, Wheeling came back strong with a five-run inning to tie the game. Unfortunately, Frostburg State ultimately secured the win.

Looking ahead, Wheeling’s upcoming game against Glenville will be their 22nd meeting, with Glenville currently leading the series 11-10. The competition between these teams has been tight over the years, with games often decided by narrow margins. Wheeling is eager to bounce back from their recent losses and finish the season on a high note.

On offense, Wheeling will rely on freshman Madison Kay, who leads the team in home runs and RBIs. Cassie Feyh and Makie Paxson have also been key players for the team this season. Glenville has seen impressive performances from freshman Emma McLean as well as senior Katelyn Richardson, who have contributed significantly to the team’s success so far.
