Choo, A Billionaire, Unveils The World’s Largest Mercure Hotel In Singapore

The Mercure ICON, situated in the financial district of Singapore, is the largest Mercure hotel in the world and a significant addition to Worldwide Hotels’ portfolio. Choo Chong Ngen, founder of Worldwide Hotels and Singaporean billionaire, described it as the new flagship hotel for the group. The hotel’s rich cultural surroundings with numerous cafes, restaurants, and bars nearby offer guests an authentic Singaporean experience.

Worldwide Hotels has opened three hotels in Singapore within the past six months, investing a total of S$1.6 billion in these properties. These developments solidify the company’s presence in Singapore’s competitive hotel market. With these recent additions, Worldwide Hotels now operates over 8,600 rooms in Singapore, making it one of the largest hotel groups in the country. Alongside other major players like Accor and Far East Organization, Worldwide Hotels has established a strong foothold in the hospitality industry. In addition to Mercure, the group owns several other brands such as Hotel 81, Hotel Boss, and Value Hotel.
