16-Year-Old Kris Kim Surpasses Jordan Spieth’s Record at PGA Tour Debut

16-year-old amateur Kris Kim impresses the golf world by making cut in PGA Tour debut

Kris Kim, an English teenager, made a remarkable debut on the PGA Tour. At just 16 years old, he surpassed the record previously set by Jordan Spieth in 2010 at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson tournament in McKinney, Texas. Kim’s impressive results came after being introduced to golf by his mother, Ji-Hyun Suh, a former professional golfer.

Kim carded a three-under-68 first round and a four-under-67 second round, showing remarkable composure despite feeling nerves on the 18th hole. He secured his spot in the cut with a birdie putt and expressed his joy at being able to play two more days at the tournament.

With his mother now serving as his swing coach, Kim has made the transition to the PGA Tour with impressive results. Currently sitting in a tie for 36th place, he looks ahead to the third round with confidence. The tournament also saw Jordan Spieth struggle with injuries and fail to make the cut.

As Kim tees off for the third round on Saturday morning, he is eager to continue his impressive debut on the PGA Tour and showcase his talent to the world of golfing.
