A Comprehensive Strategic Plan for Promoting Optimal Health in Communities through Effective Policymaking

TFAH’s Strategic Plan for 2023-2026

A new strategic plan has been released by the Trust for America’s Health (TFAH) that outlines a roadmap for promoting optimal health for individuals and communities through effective policymaking. The plan focuses on four priorities, each with specific objectives to enhance the nation’s public health system, address social and economic factors impacting health, prioritize prevention, and promote health equity.

The first priority is to build a strong, resilient, trusted, and equitable public health system that can effectively address the challenges and opportunities in public health. The second priority emphasizes innovation to drive systemic changes that promote and protect health and well-being for all individuals. The third priority focuses on advancing health equity in public health and prevention efforts. Finally, the fourth priority aims to establish a people-centered organization that is dynamic and thriving.

This strategic plan was developed through a collaborative process involving the TFAH Board of Directors, staff, partners, and stakeholders. By leveraging TFAH’s existing strengths and identifying opportunities for improvement, the plan aims to strengthen the public health system and create better community conditions that support health and well-being for all.
