Archery Superstar: Deepika Kumari’s Journey to Success in 2023 World Cup Tournament.

Deepika Kumari advances to final four in World Cup return at Shanghai 2024

In 2023, Deepika Kumari missed out on the Indian team due to becoming a mother. However, she is now back in action and competing on the Hyundai Archery World Cup circuit. Her goal is to earn a spot on the podium at this year’s opening stage in Shanghai. Despite starting as the 30th seed, Deepika made it to the final four by defeating number six qualifier Jeon Hunyoung Jeon in the quarterfinals. The top four includes last year’s winner Lim Sihyeon, third Korean Nam Suhyeon, and home favorite Li Jiaman.

Becoming a mother has given Deepika a new perspective on her career and renewed motivation to succeed. She missed being a part of the team and felt a sense of purpose when competing. Expressing her happiness to be back on the team in an important year, Deepika shares her excitement for returning to what she loves.

Following an underwhelming qualifying and an early exit in the team event, Deepika turned things around during the eliminations. A conversation with her psychologist helped her adopt a positive mindset for the matches. Focused on being in her zone and not paying attention to her opponents’ arrows, she excelled during the eliminations.

Deepika’s resilience and determination to return to form in the competitive arena have been evident in her recent performances. As she continues to strive for success on the archery circuit, she remains grateful for the opportunity to compete and pursue her passion for the sport.
