Bartlesville High School Qualifies 12 Student-Athletes for State Track and Field Championships; Gentry Turner Set to Compete in Two-Mile

During Regionals over the weekend, Bartlesville High track and field sent 12 student-athletes to State. The usual suspects from BHS qualified for the championships, including a pair of jumpers and long-distance runners who have been in contention all season. Head coach David Ayres spoke about some of the relay teams that will be competing at State this weekend.

One athlete to watch will be Gentry Turner, who is expected to be the favorite to win the two-mile at State on Friday and Saturday in Oklahoma City. Turner has also been one of only a couple girls who have run a sub-five-minute mile so far this season. Ayres discussed some other Bartlesville qualifiers who will be competing in the 6A State competition.
