Dexter Fowler, World Series Champion, Graduates from Penn State with Class of 2024

Chicago Cubs World Series champion and former Major League Baseball player Dexter Fowler has recently graduated from Penn State with a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational and Professional Communication. Fowler, who played in the majors from 2008-21 with various teams including the Colorado Rockies, Houston Astros, St. Louis Cardinals, Los Angeles Angels, and the Cubs, fulfilled a promise to his parents to finish his education and attend college when he was drafted by the Rockies in 2004.

Fowler’s father negotiated in his contract to have four years of school paid for, which prompted him to return to Penn State to earn his degree. Despite his successful baseball career, Fowler also owns two companies and provides baseball analysis for ESPN, NBC Sports, and FOX Sports. He completed his studies at Penn State’s World Campus and celebrated his achievement with a graduation ceremony at the College of Liberal Arts on Saturday, May 4.

Joe is a junior journalism major at Penn State and the managing editor of Onward State, where he covers Penn State football and other sports. Outside of work, he enjoys watching soccer and working out at the gym. You can follow him on Twitter for fun content or email him for more serious inquiries.
