Vietnam’s Foreign Minister Son expresses hope for US recognition of ‘market economy’ status

In a speech at the Brookings Institution think tank, Vietnamese Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized the importance of enhancing economic trade and investment cooperation between the United States and Vietnam. He expressed hope that the US will soon recognize Vietnam as a market economy, which would eliminate higher anti-dumping duties on imports and create new opportunities for growth and development in the region.
