The Brooklyn Park Lions Club is getting ready for their 61st annual “World’s Largest” Smelt Fry, an exciting spring tradition that kicks off this week. With the goal of setting a new record, the club aims to fry up a massive 1,300 pounds of smelt.
The smelt fry is not just about delicious food; it also serves an important purpose. Funds raised from the event go towards providing vision screenings for children and supporting the youth Brooklyn Park Lions Drum & Dance Corps, making it a meaningful way to give back to the community.
Running from Wednesday evening through Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., the smelt fry will be held at the Brooklyn Park Community Activity Center. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy a tasty meal while supporting important causes in the community.
Mike Reeves, hard at work taking inventory, is ensuring everything is ready for what promises to be a successful and enjoyable event for all who attend.
