Cannabis Business Revolution: Revival’s Approval for Buffalo’s First Legal Dispensary

Buffalo Business Owners Issued Cannabis License

Revival, a cannabis boutique, has received approval to transform the former J.W. Ruger Co. & Deck Bros. Building in Buffalo into a licensed adult-use cannabis business. Armond June, CEO and co-founder of Revival, expressed his excitement at finally reaching this milestone, stating that the goal of his company is to bring trust and transparency to the local cannabis industry.

June described the application process as long, daunting and frustrating, requiring a level of patience he didn’t know he possessed. This frustration was also echoed by Governor Kathy Hochul during her visit to Buffalo in January, where she expressed her dissatisfaction with the delays in getting approvals. Following the recent issuance of 101 adult-use cannabis licenses by the Cannabis Control Board, Hochul acknowledged the progress of New York’s legal cannabis industry, with over 400 licenses issued in 2024.

The establishment of Revival will create 25 new jobs in downtown Buffalo on Chicago Street. June likened the micro-business license allowing for cultivation, manufacturing, retail storefront, a tasting lounge and community room for events to craft breweries. He aims to open Revival later this year and looks forward to contributing to the growing cannabis community in Buffalo.
