Children’s Hospital Reaps Big Benefits from Patient Assistance Fundraiser: Penn State Health Celebrates $100,170 Raised for Children’s Miracle Network

More than $100,000 raised during Penn State Health Children’s Week

Penn State Health Children’s Week was a huge success, with a check presentation at a Hershey Bears Game celebrating the fundraising efforts. The total amount raised for Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital during the week was an impressive $100,170.

The support provided by CMN’s Patient Assistance Endowment goes towards providing essential support to patients and their families during difficult times. This includes meal and gas vouchers, medical devices, specialty medication, and other forms of relief when families are facing unexpected challenges. One family who benefited from this support was the Yoders. Joshua Yoder spent 18 days at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital battling a respiratory virus. His mom, Jean Yoder, was by his side throughout his stay and thanks to the assistance provided by CMN’s Patient Assistance Endowment, she was able to focus on Joshua’s recovery while still taking care of herself.

The Patient Assistance Endowment is more than just a financial resource; it acts as a lifeline for families struggling to meet their basic needs during challenging times. The support provided by CMN allows families to navigate the difficulties of having a child in the hospital with greater ease and peace of mind.

Campaign sponsors for this fundraising effort included Ace Hardware, The GIANT Company, Woodstream, McClure Company, Bobby Rahal Toyota, United Concordia, Shollenberger, Januzzi & Wolfe LLP
