Crew Member Goes Missing on Ambassador Cruise Ship’s Final Voyage Around the World

UK News: Crew member goes missing during round-the-world cruise

A member of the crew on a 120-day voyage around the world has gone missing at sea. The Ambience ship, operated by Ambassador Cruise Line, was making its final journey from Lisbon, Portugal back to the UK when the crew member was reported missing.

The ship, which can carry 1,400 guests at a time, had been due to return to the UK on Sunday morning but turned back to join the search for the missing crew member. The crew member, who was from India, went missing shortly after breakfast this morning while the ship was off Cape Finisterre, on the west coast of Spain.

Thorough searches were conducted for the person and local coastguard authorities were informed. However, after retracing its route to the location where the crew member was last seen and being released by coastguard authorities from their search mission, the ship is continuing on its original course back to the UK.

Ambassador Cruise Line is based in Purfleet, Essex and has confirmed that the arrival of the Ambience ship will be delayed until Sunday evening. All events planned to celebrate its return have been canceled as a result of this incident. The cruise line is providing full support to all crew members affected by this event and keeping guests onboard informed throughout their journey.
