Director Louis Leterrier Unveils New Sci-Fi Horror Thriller, 11817

Louis Leterrier to Direct Sci-Fi Horror Film ‘11817’ as it Launches Sales at Cannes

Louis Leterrier, the director of Fast X, is set to direct and produce a new sci-fi horror film titled 11817. The script for the movie has been written by Matthew Robinson, who is known for his work on The Invention of Lying. The film follows a family of four who are mysteriously trapped inside their house indefinitely. As they run out of both modern luxuries and life essentials, the family must learn to be resourceful in order to survive and outsmart whoever or whatever is keeping them trapped.

The casting process for the film is currently underway, with various producers on board including Leterrier, Thomas Benski, Omar Sy, Lars Sylvest, Kori Adelson, Oly Obst, Thorsten Schumacher, and Joe Neurauter. Cecile Gaget is executive producing for Carrousel Studios. Rocket Science will finance the project and handle foreign sales while CAA Media Finance will represent domestic rights.

Leterrier expressed his excitement about the project stating that audience engagement with the characters is always his focus regardless of their complexities or flaws. He has previously directed several blockbuster films such as Fast X, Now You See Me, and The Incredible Hulk. He has also worked in television producing and directing shows like Netflix’s Lupin and The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. Currently attached to direct the final film in the Fast & Furious franchise, Leterrier has an impressive resume in the industry.

Rocket Science’s Cannes slate for this year also includes Ali Abbasi’s Donald Trump film Donald Trump: The Apprentice as well as Cliffhanger which adds another exciting addition to their lineup.

Leterrier is represented by CAA Entertainment 360/LBI Sloan Offer Weber & Dern and UBBA in France while Robinson is represented by CAA 3 Arts Ziffren Brittenham
