NASCAR Truck and Xfinity Series Friday Schedule at Texas Motor Speedway

Friday afternoon at Texas Motor Speedway will see two national NASCAR series in action. The Craftsman Truck Series teams will practice, qualify, and race on the 1.5-mile track, while the Xfinity series teams will practice and qualify ahead of Saturday’s race.

Last season’s Truck race winner, Carson Hocevar, won his first victory at Texas after last-lap contact with Nick Sanchez. However, Hocevar will not be back to defend his win as multiple drivers seek another Texas victory.

The Friday schedule for Texas Motor Speedway includes mostly sunny skies with a high of 79 degrees. The garage opens at 11 a.m., with the Craftsman Truck Series running from 4:05 – 4:25 p.m., followed by Truck Series qualifying from 4:35 – 5:30 p.m., Xfinity Series practice from 6:05 – 6:25 p.m., Xfinity Series qualifying from 6:35 – 7:30 p.m., and finally the Truck Series race starting at 8:30 p.m., covering 167 laps over 250 miles and broadcast on FS1, Motor Racing Network, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

As for the Cup series drivers, they explained what they want from their crew chiefs for success in the NASCAR championship race.

Five-time Texas winner Johnny Sauter returns to the series as he joins Niece Motorsports for his second start of the season.

Another five-time Texas winner Kyle Busch returns to Spire Motorsports for his third start of the season.

Two-time Texas winner Matt Crafton and Stewart Friesen both continue their full-time seasons while trying to return to the playoffs.

William Byron can join an esteemed list by winning the championship this season.
