Downtown Summerlin: Embracing Mental Health Through Art and Community Inclusion

Summerlin’s downtown area reveals the ‘Mood Sculpture’ to commemorate Mental Health Awareness Month

Downtown Summerlin is honoring Mental Health Awareness Month with a series of displays that aim to raise awareness about the importance of mental health. One such display features Tony Tasset’s ‘Mood Sculpture,’ which encourages people to embrace and acknowledge different emotions.

Guests visiting Downtown Summerlin can explore the rainbow range of moods that the sculpture embodies inside the butterfly garden located under The Pavilion at the property. This interactive display allows individuals to reflect on their own emotions and mental well-being.

Halee Harczynski, senior director of marketing for Downtown Summerlin, expressed the importance of addressing mental health for people of all ages. She emphasized that by promoting mental health awareness through art and events, Downtown Summerlin aims to create a supportive and inclusive community for all its visitors.

Organizers at Downtown Summerlin suggest various ways to work on improving mental health, including staying active, seeking therapy, or simply engaging in activities like shopping at the weekly farmer’s market. By providing resources and support for individuals struggling with mental health issues, Downtown Summerlin hopes to foster a sense of community and understanding among its visitors.
