The World Athletics Relays Bahamas 24 brought excitement to Nassau as Noah Lyles pumped up the Bahamian crowd before leading Team USA to a world-leading time in the men’s 4x100m relay. This was just one of many thrilling races on Day 1, where Paris quota spots were up for grabs in various relay events.

Team USA, comprised of Courtney Lindsey, Kenny Bednarek, Kyree King, and Noah Lyles, clocked a time of 37.49 to win Heat 1 of the men’s 4x100m relay. They narrowly edged out the Italian team, which included Olympic 100m champion Marcell Jacobs, who finished with a time of 38.14.

In the evening relays, several teams secured their quota spots for the Paris Games, with the top two teams in each event earning the opportunity to compete. The U.S. women had a strong showing in the 4x100m relay, posting the fastest time of the night with a time of 42.21.

Unfortunately for Team USA men, they faced a setback when they were disqualified for an illegal handoff in the 4x400m relay. Despite this disappointment, they remained focused on securing their spot for Paris.
