Grammy Award-winning rapper Cardi B met with World 100m champion Sha’Carri Richardson in a video that premiered during NBC Sports’ coverage of the 150th Kentucky Derby on Saturday. The two women were seen getting their nails done together, discussing Richardson’s training regimen and sharing their excitement for the Olympics being held in Paris.
Richardson won the 2023 World 100m title in 10.65 seconds, making her an early favorite for the Paris Olympic 100m final on Aug. 3. Before heading to the Olympics, she needs to make the team at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials from June 21-30 in Eugene, Oregon. The top three women in the 100m qualify for the individual event in Paris, while the top six will likely compete in the 4x100m relay as well as being contenders for the coveted medal in 200m event as she was placed third in world championships of that event. Prior to trials, Richardson is scheduled to race in the 100m at Pre Classic meet held May 25th which is one of most prestigious annual international track and field meet held in US.
NBC Sports and Peacock will air live coverage of Pre Classic meet, Olympic Trials and Paris Olympics along with other key competitions leading up to the much-awaited Paris Games of 24th century which will be a historic moment not only for athletes but also viewers across globe who are eagerly waiting to witness this grandeur event unfold on screen.
