Eagles Make Strategic Moves with Standout Draft Class of A-: Adding Depth and Talent to their Roster

Philadelphia Eagles excel in 2024 NFL Draft by bolstering secondary under Howie Roseman’s leadership

The Philadelphia Eagles had a standout draft, earning an overall grade of A-. They made strategic moves in each round to acquire top talent and depth for their roster.

In the first round, they drafted Quinyon Mitchell, who has the potential to be a CB1 in the NFL. In the second round, they grabbed Cooper DeJean, a player who should have been a first-round pick. Later in the draft, they took risks on players like Ainias Smith and Johnny Wilson. And finally, they made a feel-good selection with Jeremiah Trotter Jr.

One of the least favorite picks for the Eagles was Will Shipley, a running back from Clemson. While Shipley was solid in college, he may not translate well to the NFL as a dynamic back. However, the Eagles acquired additional picks for the 2025 draft by drafting Shipley.

Overall, the Eagles made several solid selections in the draft and have added depth to their roster. With their strong draft class and future picks, they are well-positioned for success in upcoming seasons.
