Despite rising inflation, the French have not given up on their traditional egg hunt for Easter this year. The global price of Cocoa rose by an astonishing 162% between Easter 2023 and Easter 2024 due to various factors such as global warming and the impact of the El Niño storm on Africa.

In response to rising costs, Lindt announced a 5% price increase for 2024, following a 10% increase the previous year. Sales of chocolates for adults, which saw a modest 3% price increase, outperformed chocolates for children, which went up by a significant 7%. The top-selling chocolates this Easter were Ferrero Rocher with nearly 420 tonnes sold, Lindt rabbits with 272 tonnes sold, and Kinder Schokobons with 229 tonnes sold.
