Europe facing challenges in security, economy, and culture, warns Macron.

Seven years after his first address on Europe at Sorbonne University, French President Emmanuel Macron returned to the prestigious institution to speak about the challenges facing the continent in terms of security, economy, and culture. He expressed concerns about Europe being encircled by various powers, both at its borders and within its own territory.

Macron highlighted the increasing capabilities of regional powers that are not limited by any inhibitions and emphasized that Europe’s economic model is struggling against competition from the United States and China. He also pointed out that Europe’s values and culture are at risk as the continent is involved in a battle of narratives, values, and imagination.

The French President stressed that it is important for Europe to remain united in order to face these challenges head-on. He called for greater cooperation between member states and urged them to work together to find solutions that benefit everyone. Macron also emphasized the importance of protecting human rights and promoting democracy as key components of Europe’s future success.
