Expanding the Reach: The MetroHealth System’s Men’s Health Fair Offers Free Screenings and Education in Two Locations

Free Health Screenings Offered by MetroHealth at Two Locations on Saturday with Available Transportation

The Men’s Health Fair hosted by The MetroHealth System is expanding this year to two locations, offering a variety of free health screenings, education and career resources. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Alex B. Johnson Center at the Cuyahoga Community College Metropolitan Campus, as well as at MetroHealth’s Cleveland Heights Medical Center. Walk-ins are welcome and shuttle services will be provided to transport attendees.

Dr. Charles Modlin, a urologist and MetroHealth’s vice president and chief health equity officer, emphasized the importance of men prioritizing their health during last year’s fair. He stated that every person deserves a chance at a long, healthy life, regardless of their background or economic status. The Men’s Health Fair aims to save lives by encouraging men to take charge of their health and seek preventive care.

The health fair will provide screenings and education on various health topics including cholesterol, diabetes, digestive health, heart health, and more. Last year, a significant number of participants were found to have high cholesterol, high blood sugar levels, and elevated PSA levels indicating a risk of prostate cancer. Those individuals were offered follow-up care with a MetroHealth provider.

In summary, the Men’s Health Fair hosted by The MetroHealth System is an excellent opportunity for men to take charge of their health by providing free screenings, education and career resources in two convenient locations this year
