Da Vinci Announces Opening Date for New Science Center in Allentown

The Da Vinci Science Center at the PPL Pavilion in downtown Allentown is set to open soon, and the anticipation is mounting. This new education center, which will replace the existing facility on the Cedar Crest College campus, will officially welcome the public on May 22.

As visitors enter this state-of-the-art 67,000-square-foot science education facility, they will be greeted by an immersive exhibit experience. Dinos Alive will showcase 30 life-sized animated dinosaurs from Velociraptors to the iconic T-rex. Visitors can explore interactive exhibits such as the LVHN My Body exhibit or meet North American River Otters in the Pocono Ravine presented by Alvin H. Butz.

Lin Erickson, executive director and CEO of the Da Vinci Science Center at PPL Pavilion, expressed her excitement about the long-awaited opening. She emphasized that it was due to strong community support that made it possible for this premier science center in the Lehigh Valley to come alive. The center’s mission is to inspire curiosity and bring lives to science, just like Leonardo da Vinci did with his own scientific endeavors.

In addition to exhibit galleries, this science education facility offers amenities like fully equipped classrooms, cutting-edge laboratories, and interactive workshops for visitors of all ages. It even has a rooftop terrace for private events, adding another dimension to exploring and discovering at this premier science center.
