Students from Palm Beach participate in Annual Healthcare and Science Symposium to learn about medical careers

On Saturday, hundreds of middle and high school students from Palm Beach County Schools participated in the T. Leroy Jefferson 12th Annual Healthcare and Science Career Symposium in Riviera Beach, Florida. The event was hosted by Inlet Grove Community High School and included nine Palm Beach County Schools. Students had the opportunity to interact with professionals from healthcare companies and hospitals to learn more about potential career paths in the medical field.

Dr. Emma Banks, founder of Inlet Grove High School, emphasized the importance of exposing students to different healthcare professions at a young age. Many of the students attending the symposium expressed interest in pursuing careers as doctors, nurses, specialists, or pediatricians. They had the chance to learn about various medical careers and even participate in hands-on activities like learning CPR.

The symposium served as a valuable starting point for students to gain insight into potential career paths and connect with professionals in the medical industry. After the event, students were eager to explore internship and volunteer opportunities in the healthcare field.
