Fairbanks Community Comes Together to Create an Age-Friendly Environment for Older Americans

Summit on ‘Art and Science of Aging’ hosted by Fairbanks groups

In celebration of Older Americans Month, the Fairbanks community is coming together to address the challenges faced during the aging process. The goal of a summit hosted by Foundation Health Partners and the Fairbanks North Star Borough is to improve and create an age-friendly environment. This includes examining aspects such as housing, transportation, access to healthcare, and recreational opportunities.

The summit will kick off with a luncheon on Thursday and continue with a full day of activities and demonstrations at the Carlson Center on Friday. The event aims to promote healthy and active living for individuals over 50, with workshops and speakers covering topics like arthritis management and dementia care.

Foundation Health Partners’ Community Partnership Manager, Carol Anthony, expressed pride in the community’s dedication to supporting older adults. This event highlights the commitment to creating a supportive environment for individuals as they age.
