Five Impressive Performances Vie for Courier Journal’s Boys Athlete of the Week A Closer Look at their Outstanding Athletic Feats

Cast Your Vote for the High School Player of the Week in the Louisville Area

The top athletes of the week from Trinity High School, Kentucky Country Day, Eastern High School, DeSales, and Ballard are competing for the Courier Journal’s boys athlete of the week. Voting is currently open and will end on Thursday at 6 pm. The winner will be announced on Friday.

Kyle Campbell from Trinity High School had an impressive performance in baseball games against Highlands Latin, St. Xavier, and Southern. He hit five times, scored one run batted in (RBI), stole three bases and walked twice. Sekayi Charasika from Kentucky Country Day also had a standout week in lacrosse matches against Eastern, scoring five goals and providing two assists to lead the team to a win over Eastern.

Ryan Eubanks from Eastern High School also had an outstanding week in baseball games against Southern, Christian Academy, and Bullitt Central. He hit five times, scored five runs batted in (RBIs), and walked twice. Cole Thompson from DeSales pitched an impressive game with 13 strikeouts to lead his team to a win over Christian Educational Consortium in baseball games against Christian Educational Consortium and Male. He also hit three times, scored one run batted in (RBI), stole a base, and walked once.

Cooper Risinger from Ballard showcased his skills on the lacrosse field by scoring 11 goals and providing four assists in matches against Frederick Douglass and Atherton.
