From Engineer to Ring Champion: The Inspiring Journey of Mary Casamassa

This Weekend Kicks Off Pittsburgh Boxer’s Path to World Championship Glory

Mary Casamassa is a determined hometown boxer in Ross Township, who has been training at Jack’s Boxing Gym six days a week for years. She is just days away from her biggest opportunity to showcase her skills to the world, and she couldn’t be more excited.

Casamassa thrives on the challenge of boxing and enjoys pushing herself to the limit. With drive, determination, and a big personality, she dreams of becoming a world champion. Her passion for the sport began when she was inspired by her brothers as teenagers, and she started training with Jack Mook under his guidance.

Despite working full-time as an engineer, Casamassa dedicates herself to a rigorous training routine to prepare for her fights. She trains hard every day and loves what she does. Whether it’s sparring with other fighters or practicing technique with her coach, Casamassa gives it everything she’s got.

Casamassa’s next big challenge is the Brawl at the Hall event in Harmony, where she will face Olivia Gerula in a 10-round main event. This is a significant opportunity for Casamassa as she aims to prove her skills and potentially earn a title. With the support of her family and trainers including praying with a pastor before matches and sharing Oreos with Mook after them, Casamassa knows that anything is possible if you put your heart into it.
