From Migrant Farm Worker to Astronaut: Jose Hernandez Inspires Kids at El Paso Science Festival

Families Participate in El Paso Science Festival Inauguration

Over the weekend, the El Paso Science Festival was held and welcomed families and guests from the Borderland community. The two-day event featured exhibits that focused on environmental science, space exploration, physics, and mathematics.

One of the highlights of the festival was a special appearance by astronaut Jose Hernandez. Hernandez shared his journey from being a migrant farm worker to becoming an astronaut, emphasizing the importance of inspiring children with similar dreams to believe in themselves and pursue their goals, regardless of their background.

Hernandez’s story served as a role model for children who may not see themselves represented in certain fields. By sharing his successes and experiences, he hoped to empower young individuals to believe in the power of education and hard work.
