From Southport to the World Stage: John Tinniswood, the Humble 111-Year-Old Man

British man named John Tinniswood earns title of world’s oldest living man at 111 years old

John Tinniswood, a humble great-grandfather from Southport, has recently become the world’s oldest living man at 111 years and 223 days old. Despite his extraordinary longevity, he doesn’t believe in any specific lifestyle choices or diet that have contributed to his long life. He enjoys battered fish and chips every Friday as part of his regular meals.

Living in a care home in Southport, Mr. Tinniswood is described as a “big chatterbox” by the staff. As a lifelong Liverpool fan, he does not smoke and rarely drinks alcohol. He believes in moderation and that doing too much of anything will lead to suffering eventually. He meets his daily news requirements by listening to the radio and manages his own finances.

Born in Liverpool in 1912, Mr. Tinniswood met his wife at a local dance and they were married during World War II. He previously held the Guinness World Records title of the oldest living man until his passing at the age of 114. Upon receiving the new title, he remains humble about his achievement, stating that it does not make a difference to him personally. He believes that the world is always changing and hopes that it is improving for the better. Maria Branyas Morera from Spain holds the title of the oldest person alive at 117 years old while Jiroemon Kimura from Japan holds the record for the oldest man ever, living to be 116 years and 54 days old; Jeanne Calment from France holds the record for the longest confirmed human lifespan ever, living to be 122 years and 164 days old.
