Glass Science Workshop to be Organized by the International Commission on Glass

In July 2024, the International Commission on Glass (ICG) will host its 15th Workshop for New Researchers in Glass Science and Applications in Montpellier, France. This workshop is aimed at PhD/Master’s students studying glass or those who have recently started research in the glass industry.

Throughout the week, participants can expect to gain an overview of the fundamentals in glass science, with an emphasis on preparation, structure-property relationships, experimental techniques, MD simulations, and tools that probe structure. The normal fee for the workshop is €970, with a reduced fee of €380 available for students and academic staff.

The key feature of these workshops is student-centered learning. In addition to 16 formal lectures, there will be eight tutorials that involve discussions with participants. These tutorials provide an opportunity for students to engage with experts in the field and ask questions about their research.
