GITEX Africa 2024: Connecting and Exploring Opportunities in the Blossoming African Tech Ecosystem

The Marrakech Global Innovation Summit

The African tech ecosystem is experiencing a surge in interest from international investors, with African tech startups raising $6.5 billion in 2022. This growth is comparable to Europe’s early 2010s and driven by promising GDP growth forecasts.

This year, GITEX Africa will be held from 29 to 31 May in Marrakech, Morocco, providing an excellent platform for startups, investors, and industry professionals to connect and explore opportunities in the African tech ecosystem.

The conference and exhibition booths will offer networking opportunities for professionals in various sectors such as cloud and IoT, cybersecurity, digital health, future finances, consumer technology, telecoms, and AI. Additionally, there will be a startup competition with a $100,000 prize, certified training courses on topics like generative AI and blockchain development, and workshops on data science applications.

The event will also highlight entrepreneurs and founders from Africa with the North Star Africa startup showcase. Confirmed speakers include industry leaders such as Raz Bachar from Microsoft for Startups and Maelis Carraro from Catalyst Fund. Moroccan startups like Maroc Data Centre, Zen Networks, Dataprotect and Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) will showcase their innovative projects and technologies at GITEX Africa 2024.

GITEX Africa 2024 is not only an opportunity to connect with potential investors but also learn from industry experts and meet emerging talent in the startup world. With its focus on innovation and entrepreneurship in the African tech ecosystem, this event is a must-attend for European startups looking to expand their reach into the continent.
