Gospel Choir Competition to be Featured at Health Symposium in Jackson

The Mississippi State Department of Health is hosting a “Be in Good Health” symposium on Saturday at the Jackson Convention Complex. The event, which runs from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., will feature informative TED-style talks from health experts and free on-site health screenings.

At least eight gospel choirs will be competing in the event, including Anderson United Methodist Church Praise Team, Pastor J Artie Stuckey & VOR, and DOXAMUZIQ. Screenings will begin at 8:30 a.m., with the competition and symposium running from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Interested individuals can reserve a seat by clicking on the provided link.

The symposium is a collaborative effort between the MSDH’s Office of Health Equity and the Community Engagement Center of the Jackson Heart Study.
