Harrington clinches victory at Hoag with impressive birdie-birdie finish after double bogey

Padraig Harrington claimed his seventh PGA Tour Champions victory at the Hoag Classic on Sunday, held at the windy Newport Beach Country Club. Despite a double bogey on the par-4 16th hole, Harrington rallied with birdies on the final two holes to secure a one-stroke win over Thongchai Jaidee.

The 52-year-old Irishman, who is set to be inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in June, boasts victories in The Open in 2007 and 2008, as well as the PGA Championship in 2008. He finished at 14-under 199 with a final round score of 2-under 69 after recovering from a wayward drive that led to trouble on the 16th with a downhill 15-foot putt on the 17th and an 8-footer on the 18th.
