Israeli Army’s Plans for Gaza Attack on Hold as Hostage Release Negotiations Continue

Israel guarantees halt to Rafah invasion if agreement reached with Hamas on hostages

The Israeli Army’s plans for a massive attack on the Gazan city of Rafah have been put on hold after Foreign Minister Israel Katz stated that an agreement to release the hostages held by Hamas is necessary before any operation can be launched. In an interview with Channel 12, Katz emphasized the importance of resolving this issue and confirmed that the operation would be suspended if an agreement is reached.

According to official sources, a new offer has been presented to Hamas as a final opportunity to accept a ceasefire. If they refuse, the Israeli Army will launch a major offensive on Rafah. Despite progress in talks mediated by Egypt and Qatar, tensions remain high as Israeli officials warn of the seriousness of the situation.

There is disagreement within Israel’s war cabinet about whether or not to proceed with the Rafah offensive. While some ministers threaten to resign if it is canceled, others stress the importance of reaching an agreement with Hamas. The Israeli Army believes that Yahya Sinwar, leader of Hamas in Gaza, is hiding in Rafah, making it a crucial target for their operation.

The future of Rafah remains uncertain as negotiations continue between Israel and Hamas. The release of hostages is a key issue that will determine whether or not a major offensive will be launched.
