Kansas Science Festival Promotes STEAM Education for All Ages Despite Weather Challenges

Kids can learn from a variety of STEAM activities at the Kansas Science Festival

The 3rd annual Kansas Science Festival was held today in downtown Manhattan, with over 150 presenters and 50 booths showcasing a wide range of STEAM-related activities. Participants from institutions such as K-State and NBAF offered activities like paper microscopes, exploration of Kansas’s native fish, and biophysics.

The festival aimed to engage people of all ages in learning about science and technology. Phillip Shults, the program coordinator for the Kansas Science Festival, emphasized the importance of getting both kids and parents excited about science. He noted that everyone, regardless of age, could take away something valuable from the event.

Despite some weather challenges, the festival was able to continue with many activities relocated to the library. The strong community support was instrumental in making the event a success. Copyright 2024 WIBW. All rights reserved.
