Katherine Vergos, president of SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac, is stepping down in May to take on a new role as market president for CommonSpirit Health in Las Vegas. After 14 years with the hospital, Vergos expressed her gratitude for the time she has spent at St. Agnes, stating that it has shaped her into the leader and person she is today.

Vergos began her career at SSM Health Ripon Community Hospital as chief operating and nursing officer before transitioning to St. Agnes Hospital. During her tenure, she played a key role in opening the new Ripon Community Hospital facility and successfully integrating it into the larger SSM Health Wisconsin family. She also led her teams through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and built strong relationships with community partners.

Kyle Nondorf, SSM Health Wisconsin regional vice president, praised Vergos’s dedication to patients and team members, as well as her efforts to uphold the health care services that reflect the mission of SSM Health. As Vergos prepares to leave, the hospital is actively working to recruit her successor to continue the legacy of exceptional care and leadership.
