SAM Fest: Earth Canvas: Art & Climate Change Returns with Music, Art, Talks and Community Participation

The SAM Fest: A Celebration of Science, Art, and Music, Returns to Paul Smith’s VIC on April 13

The Science Art Music Festival (SAM Fest) is returning to Paul Smith’s College’s Visitors Interpretive Center (VIC) on April 13, from 1 to 4 p.m. This year’s theme is Earth Canvas: Art & Climate Change. SAM Fest will feature music, visual arts, engaging TED-style talks, and special guest presenters such as Martha Foley, Suzanne S. Rancourt, Curt Stager, and Michale Glennon.

Martha Foley, a familiar voice on NCPR, will be hosting the event along with Dr. Curt Stager. Suzanne S. Rancourt, a poet and author with a diverse cultural background, will also be presenting at the festival. Director of the VIC, Scott van Laer, is looking forward to increased community participation this year. There will be a feature inspired by the 20-Dollar Art Show Extravaganza at the High Desert Museum in Bend, OR, with small works from local artists available for purchase to support VIC programming.

Emmett Smith, Founder of Northern Power & Light, Inc., expressed excitement about supporting SAM Fest and winter recreation in the watershed while giving back to Paul Smith’s College and the VIC. The event is proudly sponsored by NCPR (North Country Public Radio). For more information about SAM Fest
