Middle Market Investment Firm Sterling Acquires Science, Engineering, and Consulting Company Verdantas

RTC sells Verdantas to Sterling

Verdantas, a science, engineering, and consulting firm based in Tampa, has been acquired by Sterling Investment Partners. RTC Partners, a Miami-based investment firm that specializes in the lower middle market, sold Verdantas for an undisclosed amount. Despite the financial details remaining private, Verdantas’ management, employees and RTC will retain significant equity stakes in the company.

RTC co-founder and co-managing partner Christopher Lee expressed his gratitude to the Verdantas team in a statement. He highlighted their strong growth strategies that include organic expansion and strategic acquisitions as well as their emphasis on building a collaborative and engaging work culture.

The legal counsel for this transaction was Greenberg Traurig, LLP for RTC Partners while Cohn Reznick, LLP and CliftonLarsonAllen, LLP served as accounting and tax advisors. On the other hand, Dechert LLP and Seyfarth Shaw LLP acted as legal counsel while Alvarez & Marsal LLP provided tax advice to Sterling Investment Partners.

Sterling Investment Partners is known for their investments in the middle market while RTC Partners focuses on investments in the lower middle market. This acquisition not only represents a successful exit for RTC Partners but also paves the way for further growth and development of Verdantas under Sterling Investment Partner’s leadership.
