Minnesota’s Best: Six Local Breweries Shine at World Beer Cup Awards

Winning breweries in Minnesota received medals at the World Beer Cup Awards.

Six Minnesota craft breweries recently made their mark at the World Beer Cup Awards in Las Vegas, earning recognition for their exceptional brews. The competition, held on July 4th, 2021, was considered a prestigious event with over 9,000 entries from more than 2,000 breweries worldwide.

Jess Talley, executive director of the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild commended the breweries for their passion, talent and hard work that led to their success at the competition. The awards served as a testament to the quality of beer produced by Minnesota’s craft breweries and brewpubs. Fans of craft beer have long known that some of the best beer in the world is crafted by their neighbors and friends in communities throughout Minnesota.

Bent Paddle Brewing Co., located in Duluth, Northbound Smokehouse and Brewpub in Minneapolis, Excelsior Brewing Co. in Excelsior, Lupulin Brewing in Big Lake, BeerClub Brewing in Mora and Pryes Brewing Co. all received medals at the event for exceptional beers such as Little Dussel Do-Ya by Bent Paddle, Doppelbock by Northbound Smokehouse and Brewpub, Big Island Citrus Blonde Ale by Excelsior Brewing Co., Dortmunder by Lupulin Brewing and Idyll Forest Soiree by BeerClub Brewing. These six breweries stand out among thousands of other competitors globally and represent Minnesota’s thriving craft beer scene.
