The Technology Modernization Fund has been allocated to support NASA in enhancing its network cybersecurity and performance, which is crucial in facilitating partnerships with international space agencies and researchers, as well as protecting the value of its data. This investment will enable critical cybersecurity and operational upgrades to be implemented two years earlier than planned, highlighting the General Services Administration’s emphasis on protecting and evolving NASA’s IT infrastructure.
In addition to NASA, the Technology Modernization Board-led TMF will also be investing in the Department of Labor to streamline the delivery of injured worker assistance. Specifically, the funding will help the Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs replace the outdated Integrated Federal Employee Compensation System, or iFECS.
