New Dean for Michigan Tech’s College of Forest Resources and Environmental Sciences: David Flaspohler

David Flaspohler appointed as Dean of Michigan Tech’s College of Forest Resources and Environmental Science

David Flaspohler, who has been serving as the interim dean of Michigan Technological University’s College of Forest Resources and Environmental Sciences since 2022, has been appointed as the new dean. Flaspohler was chosen after an extensive national search and has been teaching at the university since 1998. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Wildlife Ecology and a Master of Science in Conservation Biology and Sustainable Development from the University of Wisconsin.

Andrew Storer, the Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs, expressed gratitude to the search committee for their efforts in identifying qualities in Flaspohler that will benefit the college. The university believes that Flaspohler’s experience and expertise make him the ideal candidate to lead the College of Forest Resources and Environmental Sciences into the future.

Flaspohler’s leadership will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the college and ensuring its continued success.
