New Roy Blunt Health Science Innovation Center Unveiled with Senator in Attendance

Ex-Senator to be Honored Guest at Roy Blunt Health Science Innovation Center Groundbreaking – Newstalk KZRG

Senator Roy Blunt will be the special guest at a public groundbreaking ceremony for the new Roy Blunt Health Science Innovation Center at Missouri Southern State University. The ceremony, originally scheduled to take place at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, will now be held in the Taylor Performing Arts Center due to weather conditions.

The Roy Blunt Health Science Innovation Center will be located in the heart of the campus and will be a nearly 65,000 square-foot building. It will feature a simulation hospital, cadaver labs, campus welcome center, as well as classroom and office spaces. Scheduled speakers for the ceremony include Dr. Dean Van Galen, Dr. Brad Hodson, Ashley Cordischi, Dr. Sherry Whiteman, and Carlos Haley.

Dr. Van Galen expressed gratitude for the State of Missouri and other partners who are investing in the Roy Blunt Health Science Innovation Center. This facility will provide opportunities for students and help Missouri Southern address workforce needs in the Four States region. After the ceremony, at 2 p.m., Sen. Blunt will launch the inaugural Willcoxon Innovation in Health Sciences Summit.
