New Updates to Xbox Cloud Gaming Interface: Bringing Social Features and Flexibility to Gamers Everywhere

New Xbox Cloud Gaming Dashboard Enables Web Chat Feature

Microsoft has recently unveiled a major update to its Xbox Cloud Gaming interface, which will allow users to access cloud games through their web browsers. The new interface will incorporate social features and a user interface inspired by the Xbox dashboard. One of the key enhancements is the addition of a web-based version of Xbox Party Chat, enabling users to communicate with friends directly from their browser without needing the dedicated Xbox desktop or mobile apps.

In addition to party chat functionality, the updated web interface will offer features such as discovering and managing friends on Xbox, sending messages, viewing user profiles and achievements, and accessing notifications. These innovations are currently being tested in beta with the Xbox Insiders group before being rolled out to all Xbox Cloud Gaming users.

The updated web interface is also compatible with smart TVs and Meta Quest VR headsets, increasing its versatility across different devices. The interface already mirrored the Home screen UI of Xbox consoles but is now enhanced with additional features aimed at improving the overall user experience, making many features previously only accessible through launching a cloud game on Xbox more easily accessible.

Microsoft is also introducing new gaming hubs to the Xbox app for Windows, providing PC players with additional content and the ability to track game progress within the app. Additionally, April updates for Xbox consoles include options for turning off Discord soundboard sounds, receiving notifications for game capture storage on OneDrive, and setting restrictions on game or app installations on the console. These updates aim to improve the gaming experience across different platforms for Xbox users.

Overall, Microsoft’s update to its Xbox Cloud Gaming interface offers players greater flexibility and convenience when accessing cloud games while enhancing their overall gaming experience through social features and additional content hubs.
