Nuclear Deterrence or Survival? Iran’s Response to Israel’s Potential Threat

Khamenei’s Adviser Warns of Reviewing Iran’s Nuclear Doctrine

Iran may need to change its nuclear doctrine if Israel poses a threat to its existence, according to Kamal Kharazi, adviser to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution. Although Iran has not yet decided to develop nuclear weapons, if faced with an existential threat, they may have no choice but to do so. Kharazi stated that if Israel attacks Iran’s nuclear facilities, their concept of deterrence will be altered.

General Ahmad Hajtalab, a senior representative of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps responsible for nuclear development issues, also discussed the possibility of revising Iran’s nuclear doctrine in response to a potential Israeli strike. International experts believe that Iran is nearing the ability to possess nuclear weapons and could become a nuclear power in the near future with the right decision, although only Ayatollah Ali Khamenei can make that decision.

In April 2024, Iran launched an attack on Israel for the first time, utilizing unmanned aerial vehicles, ballistic missiles, and cruise missiles. However, Israel managed to destroy most of the incoming threat without causing significant harm to the Iranians. This event highlighted the ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel and the potential for a change in Iran’s nuclear doctrine in the face of threats to its security.

The recent attack by Iran on Israel was not only a military action but also served as a warning signal for other nations about the potential consequences of crossing paths with Tehran. The international community must take note of this warning signal and work towards preventing any further conflict between these two nations.

In light of these tensions and potential changes in Iran’s nuclear doctrine, it is crucial for world leaders to engage in dialogue and find peaceful solutions to resolve their differences. Failure to do so could lead to catastrophic consequences that could impact global stability and security.

It is important for both sides to recognize that diplomacy is key in resolving conflicts and maintaining peace. Any actions taken by either side must be carefully considered and weighed against their respective interests before being implemented. Only then can we hope for a resolution that benefits all parties involved.

Overall, while tensions between Iran and Israel remain high, it is essential that both sides come together and engage in dialogue towards finding peaceful solutions. The future of our world depends on it.
