Nutrition Buddies: Teaching Children About Cooking and Nutrition with Medical Resident Physician Buddies

Program provides free education on healthy choices for children in Washtenaw County

This summer, Trinity Health Ann Arbor is excited to offer a free program called Nutrition Buddies for children aged 11-13. The aim of this program is to teach kids about cooking and nutrition through in-person culinary classes with a medical resident physician buddy.

Through the program, participants will learn how to prepare nutritious foods and receive a weekly produce box and cooking kit from The Farm at Trinity Health. Parents can sign their children up for two different sessions: one in May and one in July. Children attending the July program will also have the opportunity to attend one week of free farm camp in August.

The in-person classes will take place at Trinity Health Ann Arbor Women’s Health Center in Ypsilanti from 5:30-7 p.m. Registration is now open, and interested parents can sign up for either the May session or the July session. For more information or questions about Nutrition Buddies, parents can email the Lifestyle Medicine team at lifestylemedicine@trinity-health.org with the subject line “Nutrition Buddies.”

Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity for children to learn about cooking and nutrition while having fun with their medical resident physician buddy!
