‘Leading Ho Chi Minh City Towards Top 5 Cities in AI’

Nvidia is committed to supporting Ho Chi Minh City in becoming a hub for artificial intelligence (AI) technology. During a recent meeting between Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Chairman Phan Van Mai and Nvidia Vice President Keith Strier, they discussed the development prospects of the AI industry in the city.

Strier praised the city’s readiness in AI, highlighting its abundance of resources including nearly 100 universities and around 1 million IT engineers capable of delving into AI. He also noted the presence of a strong ecosystem of businesses in IT and semiconductors that are well-positioned to contribute to the AI industry.

Nvidia is eager to collaborate with Ho Chi Minh City on advancing AI technology in the near future. The company recognizes that there is complexity involved in developing such technology and emphasizes the need for continuous modernization of IT infrastructure, such as cloud computing and data centers, as well as enhancing human resource skills and business capabilities in the city.

To achieve their shared goals, Nvidia has committed to working with the city to establish AI human resource training programs for educators and students at universities, as well as improving AI technology capacities for businesses in Ho Chi Minh City. The Vice President underscored that having strong leadership and vision is crucial for driving AI development forward.

Chairman Phan Van Mai highlighted that establishing a joint working group with Nvidia will be essential to strategize and advise on priority areas in AI development, such as investing in computing infrastructure and developing AI industrial parks. The city is prepared to allocate budget resources and engage in public-private partnerships to drive the development of AI infrastructure.

With recent news about Nvidia’s establishment of an AI Factory in Vietnam along with FPT, Ho Chi Minh City aims not only to apply but also become a research and development center for AI technology serving various sectors such as administration, health, education, and urban management. Through collaboration and shared vision, both Nvidia and Ho Chi Minh City are poised to make significant strides forward in advancing their capabilities within this rapidly growing field.
