Olkiluoto 3 Maintenance Delayed by Six Days as Power Company Extends Schedule

Olkiluoto 3 maintenance faces further delays

Due to technical issues, the annual maintenance of Olkiluoto 3 will be extended by six days, with the current estimate predicting completion at the beginning of May. This extension was announced by the power company TVO.

The annual maintenance of Olkiluoto 3 began on March 2 and was originally scheduled to last 37 days. However, due to slower-than-anticipated cooling of components and other technical problems, as well as extended fuel inspections, the completion date has been pushed back four times.

This year’s maintenance is the first of its kind for Olkiluoto 3, which began full power production in March 2023. It is now expected to be completed on May 4, following the recent extension.
